A beautiful finely knotted wool rug with silk highlights, woven in the Quchan style in the town of Sarakhs near the Turkoman border in Iran, using motifs and symbols from Qashqai tribal carpets. A tea or walnut wash has been used to dull down the brightness of the original colours and provide a beautiful aged and patina effect to the rug.
