Tobu Cushion 45x45
Add a tribal story to your decor with our gorgeous new Nagaland collection!
Meticulously embroidered with the aid of bamboo sticks, each piece is woven using a ‘loin loom’, an ancient weaving method originating with the indigenous Naga tribe of North East India. A primitive back strap tension loom is used to weave vibrant geometric motifs into cloth, with each design symbolising a distinct Naga tribe.
Once head hunters infamous for their fierce battles, today the Nagas are renowned for their lively tradition of handloom. The weavers are highly skilled women dependent on loin-loom weaving as a means of income.
Tassels add a touch of fun to each corner.
